Does he have the talent, or is he just a name? That is the question that has been weighing on the minds of boxing fans since Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. made his pro debut in September of 2003. So far, no one has been able to stop him. With a record of 30 wins, no defeats, and one draw, he appears to have some skill. Chavez Jr. knows that it is his time to step it up in the level of competition, and that is what he plans to do Saturday night. He will be taking on Anthony Shuler(20-4-1) from Indianapolis, IN is what promoter Bob Arum says is Chavez Jr's toughest test to date. The bout will take place on the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao vs. Jorge Solis fight Saturday night on pay-per-view from the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX. Fightnews got a chance to catch up and chat with the son of the man many consider Mexico's greatest pound for pound fighter of all time.

In your opinion is this your toughest fight?

I do not think so, but I guess we will see. It is possible.

You have mentioned that if you win this fight, your promoter promised you a big fight. Any idea who your opponent might be?

Right now we do not know.

Is your father training you right now?

He just comes to the gym to watch me.

Any future plans of moving up in weight?

Right now, this is my weight in two or three years, I might move up.

Do you remember coming here to watch your Dad fight in 1993(Julio Cesar Chavez had a draw with Pernell Whitaker in the Alamodome, it turned out to be a very controversial draw).

Yes I do remember coming here. I have good memories.

Right now who in your opinion is Mexico's best pound for pound fighter?

(Long pause) Jorge Arce and Juan Manuel Marquez.

What is your prediction for Saturday night's fight with Anthony Shuler?

I will win by way of knockout.
