well for now i've been to youtube and i have looked at omar's first 19 fights i also looked at jr's first 19 fights i see alot of difrence looks like omar might of had a short amateur carrer hopefully arum makes better choices with him.people have high hopes in omar looks likes his bouncing from 140-147.hastnt weigh in 147 yet his highest was 146 in june of 09.does anyone know his height?it says its 5'8 i dont think so looks like his 5"9 ot 5"10 would be better if he stays at 140 he wont have trouble there.hopefully they will keep a better control of his weight

good question his boxerc says he is 5"8 no way in hell i suspect he is 5"10 he should just stay and seddle at 140 he will dominate 140 fighters simply because his height and reach will be too much light welterweights are normally 5"7 except khan who is 5"10 and doesnt seem to struggle with fighters at lightwelterweight.looking forward to see omar on saturday hopefully he KO's impressvly.

1st round Ko is exactly the way he should KO his current oponnents.he weigh in at 147 for the first time looks ok to me as long as he doesnt start to weigh in above 147 i see him mature alot faster than JUNIOR amd i see alot more hunger.

another 1st round ko :( he did what he was supposed to do, but if you are finishing your opponents on rd 1 you need to step up in competition cause you are not learning anything, wich is something omar needs with no amateur background. this time Sr said on broadcast he already told fernando beltran (promoter) omar needs better competition, omar said he is now going for 10 rounders and wants to go for a regional title, sr said he should go for the world championship as soon as posible and no juvenile title, what you think about it?.
I think its a good attitude. on the other hand, this las fight is the reason why people complain about chavez kids havin inflated records, to me it was a worthless fight where omar looked very good, but would have been better if he could go for a couple more rounds against someone who represent at least a small challenge to him.
hope sr. pushes beltran to get better opponents for omar and jr already.

well for this year i think there will be no problem with omar keep fighting bums if he ko's them in 1st-4th rounds then that means he is more than ready but dam if omar starts to struggle with bums like jr that means he aint ready for titles so this early ko's will put presure on the team and promoter so i think omar should go straight for the kills and save to box rounds intill he faces better fighter.have you guys saw his training videos on youtube he trains way harder than jr and the hole team give him stradegy i think omar send them to hell i heard he has a bad attitude.
-
i meant JR send his team and father to hell he does what ever he wants
-
is it today jr hearing at NAC?
-
chill out boys omar is 20 with 20 fights he is fighting 8 rounds should fight 10 by the end of the year.Jr?? Dam forget it they will send Jr to hell and keep the 9 months going nac has some personal against chavez jr just like HBO.
-
omar has good future at 147 being 5"10 alfonso gomez is a good oponent for him in a near time maybe by late 2010 or early 2011 gomez doesnt fight 12 rounds you know his fights are 10 rounds and a fighter jr was supose to fight before leaving welterweight omar should fight him
-
thinking about it maybe omar could become chavez sr some jr couldnt and will not do that doesnt mean he will be very good and win some titles but he will never be the caliber of his father i see omar getting there fast and i can see why sr is asking for the title fight he can win a title easy at 140 if he trains harder but 147 he should wait another year
-
I see omar chavez as a big promise in mexican boxing he will be way better than julio Jr everybody talks about that i have never heard a bad coment on omar unlike jr wich is lack of hunger i see omar at 147 as margarito always gona be the taller guy and come straight forward and throwning shots with bad intentions but he will have to have a great chin so he can eat plenty of shots like margo even his father i think he should face alfonso gomez soon
-
i just watch a top rank prospect mike jones he is a welterweight prospect with a 20-0 record and he hold a interim title omar should fight that guy its a good start it will be a competitive fight for him and surtently a learning remember top rank has both so it could hapend

I agree with you, but sr sometime said that omar likes to party a lot, Julio sr is very expressive and he works for tv azteca at ringside, you can tell by his comments that he believes that Omar is better than Jr, but he also said that, that omar needs to take things serioulsy. after the nazareth fight, Omar seems to be working harder and taking things seriously.
