    • Julito's next opponent has just been announced to be Rodrigo Juarez ([url=http://www.boxrec.com/record116670.html:243e3sbj]12-3, 9 KOs[/url:243e3sbj]) of Tijuana. Juarez looked good in his last fight, in which he won a close decision over Zaid Zavaleta (this was on the same card as the Chavez Jr - Molina I fight).

According to manager Rodolfo Chavez (who is also Juarez's manager), Bob Arum has promised that if Julito wins this fight he will get to fight Grover Wiley in his next bout (at ten rounds).

The fight is scheduled for eight rounds and will take place on the April 8 HBO pay-per-view card featuring Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Zab Judah and Jorge "Travieso" Arce vs. Rosendo Alvarez.

The draw and the tainted points victory in his last two fights against tough Michoacan fighter Carlos Molina have motivated the Chavez team to take action and try to correct certain "details" in his preparation.

Rodolfo Chavez Gonzalez, the first boxer in the Chavez dynasty and older brother of "El Cesar del Boxeo" stated yesterday by phone from Culiacan that Julito was training well for his April 8 fight in Las Vegas against Rodrigo Juarez.

      - Why didn't he go back to the Centro Ceremonial Otomi? - was inquired of Rodolfo, who was the Pacific Lightweight champion during his years as a fighter.

"We're here in Culiacan, having sparring sessions and doing everything necessary. We've been working hard for three weeks. We have three guys helping him out - Ivan Valle, Francisco 'Jabato' Haro and a very good superflyweight 'El Vaquero' Meza."

Rodolfo stated that his undefeated nephew had been submitted to "general examinations and everything came out well."

He explained: "We saw his energy being depleted during the fight. We have a nutritionist helping him to make weight, which is what we believe is the problem."

In the same manner, he indicated that in his two fights against Carlos Molina "we saw errors that didn't come up in other fights. We're working hard on this. They're small things but very important."

      - What do you all expect from this match with Rodrigo Juarez?

"We believe that he'll convince the fans with this fight. This will be his last fight at eight rounds. Afterwards, Julito wants to fight with [Grover Wiley], who beat his father. Fernando Beltran is trying to put that fight together."

Julito has a record of 24-0-1 with 18 knockouts. Juarez is 12-3 with 9 knockouts.
