JR vs Martinez
(9 posts)-
After seeing how Martinez handled Pavlik last night, I asked myself, Was or Is Jr really ready to face him? Does Jr deserve to be a #1 contender for WBC?
My opinion, Jr wouldnt last 6 rnds with Martinez. Martinez by KO before the 6th rnd.PS: anybody knows why margarito is the #2 contender for the WBC belt at 154? JR vs Margarito anybody? let see how Jr looks with his new trainer and on his next fight wwith Duddy...cant wait...hopefully Roch can bring Jr to the top or at least to another level.

victor jr will go down to 154 the wbc title at 154 is likely to be vacated by martinez and might be on the line if margo and chavez fight angulo, cotto, cintron jr can hang with those guys prety well.dont worry victor paul williams will punish sergio in the rematch interested how he ducked him for a imidate rematch even thoe he was upset with the result.jr has good future at 154 specially with roach

martinez is not a ko artist so i dought he will ko jr.wbc title has now been vacated interesting who might fight for it?will you guys discredit JR if he wins a vacant title?
-
I think jr credibility is way down right now, so if he wins ANY title, and starts to build his reputation from there, I think it would be a great place to start.
-
if he wins that vacant titile i wont discredit it if he fights and beats a world class fighter liek margarito or any other former world champion.but if he fight for the title against a BUM than thats not cool
-
its a good time for jr to get a new trainer he is still very young a world class trainer like roach and a guy who makes his fighter brawl and presure.
-
your right ralphy, besides sooner or later he has to fight top contenders... im telling you, loosing a fight would take a lot of pressure off and jr realize he has to work harder, its arum and beltran who want to preserve the unbeaten streak, he is not hes dad and its time for him to fight serious opposition. for his own benefit. if roach can get him in shape and make him able to keep the pressure he can do something, he seems to have a good chin a he can punch, not much of a defense but raider is right, he can become a tough brawler, I mean, he tries to box but so far hes not been very effective aside from the vanda rematch.
-
I think Chavez jr has more potential of being effective as a boxer than a brawler. His body features suit him better as a boxer. If Roach can develop his jab and his footwork, Chavez jr might be a quality fighter, not just an novelty act.

hes reach is supposed to be an advantage... but... why hasnt box already? dont think he can be a boxer, he starts trying to box and end up brawling.
