Jr not going to the phillipines

I just read this article. The Cotto fight might not happen. What a bummer!

I thought sparring w/ Pacman would be great for Chavez. Even better than another fight at this stage. If he's not going w/ to train w/ Pacman, and not fighting Cotto, then what's the hold up for the next fight. In that case, he should have fought Wolak.

I read somewhere also that said that Chavez may not end up going there...It basically said that Jr did not really want to go and that they had to keep asking him!!...To me this sounds like Jr is getting lazy again and he probably thinks he has finally arrived!~!I really hope not...Jr still has a long way to go...Jr keeps this crap up and Wolak is going to wipe the floor w him!!! Just when we thought Jr turned the corner he pulls this crap...HE BETTER GO TO THE PHILLIPINES PERIOD!

he was motivated on a interview about going with manny and fighting cotto this is strange.the cotto fight should be sign in 3 weeks lets see if they get that fight done

yeah, I saw an interview a while ago and he was excited about sparring with the best p4p in the world, arum said today he will talk to jr and if he is not going there wont be a fight against cotto, so i think jr will end up going to phillipines.

Well it seems Glen Tapia will be Pacmans Chief Sparring Partner!!!What happen to Chavez Jr!!!...what a dissapointment...How can Jr go back to his lazy ways...This really sucks...how can you pass sparring w the best fighter in the world today???...In my eyes Tapia will benifit greatly and Chavez will regress!!!...Chavez might as well forget about Cotto...He not ready!!!...Chavez should just go back to fighting stiffs cause he just too lazy and dont want it that bad...If i was him i would have been already there not waiting for someone to push me to be there...If Jr keeps this up he will not be training w Roach by the end of this year the relationship will be over and so will his career!!!

cain you dont get it boxing is about the green.arum is a master money hunrey fuk..you think he wants to lose such a cash cow cotto or chavez who ever losses that fight is DONE.they want to put both in the same card ppv ofcourse to build up a fight for 2011 its not official that the fight is off they want to put wolak-chavez jr cotto-cintron winners meet in spring.jr is not laying in bed trust me in his interview he doesnt look fat at all his face looks thin he must be 165 right now.pawel wolak is a step above duddy plus people said jr ducked him because wolak was going to give him a war.i really like cotto he has weaknesses but i would like to see him win another fight against a big name cintron is a popular guy but he has 0 hart we have seen it many times

Ralphy what you talking about i been watching boxing since i was little kid...I dont get boxing???dont make me laugh man...First off Arum already knows Cotto is finished...He will no longer beat the big names...Besides he makes even more money w Cotto vs Chavez cause its all in-house money GENUIS!...Cotto looked done against Foreman who had zero power...Cotto didnt ko him till dudes knee gave out and he was limping very bad out there...Im not a big Cintron fan but he is a good boxer...Jr is a brawler and Cintron would beat him easily like he beat Angulo...I dont like Cintron but i cant see Jr beating him...I can see Jr beating Cotto cause it will be a brawl and Cotto is pretty much done...My beef is that Jr is not in Phillipines w roach and Pac...so tell me who will be training Jr while Roach w Pacman...BINGO his old trainers will and they will allow him to slip...

Theres another posibility, roach didnt want the fight against cotto until they have a couple more fights, so maybe that is why this fight may not happen.

they mentioned that jr not going to phillipines cause he has a fight for nov and needs his own training regime...bunch of bull...if he does have a fight it will most likely be a bum again...no way does jr look as good as he did vs duddy w out roach in corner...i can almost bet that his bum unlces in mexico are in the kids ear and fillin his head w nonsense...Jr will never be a great champ like his dad unless he leaves the birds nest in mexico and move to us to be a full-time fighter not pt...plus in mexico his lame uncles feed negativity im sure...i know my mexican people...they want a piece of that fame...they want to say hey look we did it...Jr SHOULD BE IN THE PHILLIPINES PERIOD!!!...pacman not going to be around forever...TAKE ADVANTAGE...IM SAYIN IT HERE JR DOES NOT GO TO PHILLIPINES HE WILL NOT BE W ROACH BY YEARS END...ROACH HAS TOO MANY SERIOUS FIGHTERS PUTTING IN FULL TIME NOT PART TIME...JR IT IS UP TO YOU...

if he doesnt fight cotto he will fight wolak who he supose duck because he was goign to give him a war that what his haters said...i know the guy very well he WILL beat wolak,cotto,cintron its just a matter of him shutting mouths just like he did against duddy.and if you want to laugh.... no problem just come back and laugh after he fights them.he doesnt even talk to his uncles any more his cousin is the one that helps him with the mitts he sure does them better and faster

Wow! I like the animosity! I remember you left for a while CainP, I sure missed your fiery comments, I'm glad they're back. Anyway, I too feel that Jr. shold go to the Philipines and spar with Pacquiao. He's the best pound for pound and Jr. would learn so much from that experience. I don't think though, that not fighting Cotto this December is a bad idea. Jr. would greatly benefit from having at least one more fight with Roach before going in with the likes of Cotto. Duddy to Cotto is a huge step in class. I fear though, that CainP is right in that, if Chavez doesnt go to the Philipines Roach will not want him. I hope it's not like that.

sup fellas...well first off, i think if chavez wouldnt go because of being lazy...roach would have dropped him the minute he knew..he has said he would drop jr the first sign of laziness..so im sure we would have already heard roach drop jr. With that being said, i read that jr will be in the phillipines after all. So i take it we may have jumped to conclusions too soon after all?...who knows well see...Third, its official, the Cottor fight is OFF...they will be both fighting on dec 4th, but with different people. And they BOTH, must win in order for a showdown in '11. Cotto is in talks with Cintron for dec 4th, so im guessin jr would fight wolak after all?....

yea that what arum did with cotto and margo in 2008 first they fought seprate oponentns and it then they went and did very good ppv numbers.wolak should be interesting and wolak will not be blown up to 160 so it makes it fair and jr wont have another win discredit

Roach also said himself that he rather have a fight or two more under w Jr before fighting Cotto but he did say that if the fight was made for late in the year that would give them enough time to put together a plan to beat Cotto...I think they can but it will be a brutal war and Jr could touch the canvas for the first time in his career...Ill take Chavez by a 10rd KO!!!Wolak kind of worries me a little bit...He is rated in top ten in about 3 sanctions...

Jflo thats good news...Cotto vs Cintron and Chavez vs Wolak or other fighter on the undercard is really good...First it lets Cotto go to another war w Cintron who is kind of weird...Cintron may win this by the way!!!He will touch Cotto and he will be one fight older...I will be going for Cotto...Chavez spends more time w THA ROACH...Chavez wins and its Cotto vs Chavez in 11...makes sense...i like it

Yeah hopefully is Wolak and not some other bum...and he better kick ass..i was at the staples center on sat and when Canelo came out...there was quite a bit of cheering..the whole place actually...Hes being marketed smart and is gaining momentum on Jr. And the way he kod Baldomir, the place just went crazy... So jr better step it up...

Canelo is 20 and baldomir is 39... double the age, tata was already inactive and came back, to me that fight meant nothing, the greater the hype, the harder he will fall... he has a chin made out of glass...
back to jr, I told you guys roach wanted another fight before facing cotto, and youre right this suits arum perfectly, jr must win to wolak, and he will face either cotto or cintron, I personally think this is better deal than going straight for cotto. that cintron vs cotto im looking forward to... not sure cotto will come out victorious. :-)

there was no chance in hell tata was goign to hurt alvarez i heard he was 190 when he started camp...the guy is being brought a publicity trick of televisa/golden boy to fight the chavez popularity...canelo hasnt fought jose cotto is nothing baldomir 39 smei-retired look at jr fightign duddy a ranked fighter by wbc at #6 now wolak im not sure where he is ranked but i heard he is on the top 10.

Baldomir had only been knocked out once before this fight, back in 94. I wouldn't say he had a glass chin. Canelo is only 20 and he's already fought two known guys in Jose Cotto and now Baldomir. Granted, that Baldomir was way past his prime but still for only being 20 that ain't too bad. As for Jr, I hope he can pull it off regardless of who he fights. I think Chavez and Cotto can fill up yankee stadium now.

Atmosphere is better in a out door stadium i dont know if you guys have notice it but when the fight is in a stadium crowd is more fired up

I agree Canelo is not a joke...Baldo beat a prime Zab Judah...Gatti wich was over the hill and he beat another former champ i forget his name...Baldo has some great timing tricks that can beat any novice fighter...Canelo the real deal!...Cotto vs Chavez right now fills any stadium including Dallas!

Hi spector, I meant Canelo has a chin made out of glass, not baldomir :-)
what i can tell you about baldomir is that he has no power and at his present state he couldnt hurt canelo, and yet he landed a few!!, what when canelo had in front of him a guy like margo or cotto? canelo has a brother, "el español" he is a middleweight, he can punch as his little brother, he faced "veneno" rubio and almosk ko in the first rounds, but rubio came back and knocked him out, canelo looks a lot like that, im pretty sure a decent puncher will put his lights out, hopefully is jr.

aparently the feature of cotto vs cintron and jr vs wolak has been set up, donaire will be in the card too, a very interesting line up, good for jr.

The Wolak fight HAS to happen...its the only way to go at this point since his excuse for canceling on Wolak was becuase he wanted to get prepared for Cotto. Arum knows it and Jr knows it..it has to be Wolak. I think from the get go, it was going to be this way. By them making a hype, Cotto vs Jr, it got fans riled up about it and ready to go. And by them canceling, it just made it even more appealing to people. So by putting them on the same card, all eyes are going to be on Cotto and Jr because EVERYBODY knows that the only way the big fight is for them to win. If they both win, theres going to be even more interestes in the fight. Arum is not stupid...he knows what hes doing. Hes just building up the fight to a Mega fight. It can be a huge gamble that can pay off big or it can be a bomb. Just look at mayweather and pac...
