DE LA HOYA WILL COME BACK!!

No doubt, Oscar will come back in my opinion, I think his retirement is just strategy and hype to really get the last big fight set up, really if you think about it, I don't believe Oscar will go out like that without a farewell fight, again I think this is just to set up a big finish, I think it will be against JR!! What do you guys think?

I don't see him coming back. I don't think his heart has been in the ring since the Mosley rematch. And if he does come back, it won't be against JR because he seems to have less killer instinct than Oscar at this point and won't be any kind of challenge.
If Oscar does come back, yeah, it'll be for one more big fight against a big name. But outside of Miguel Cotto and (maybe) Ricky Hatton, who does he beat? Not Mayweather or Pac-Man. And he won't fight Mosley again--despite the fact that Mosley was doped up in that second fight (you'd think Oscar would fight him at least for his honor).

Cain P here...No way does DLH come back...if you saw his last fight you know if he comes back he is only going to get hurt...the fire is no longer there...the hunger is no longer there for him...as a fighter he has done everything you could accomplish in the sport he has done it all from a-z...DLH will never come back...

His body can no longer do what his brain wants him to do. DLH acknowledged that he doesn't have it anymore, his body can no longer compete at the highest level. No way he comes back to be a sitting duck in the ring. Even though he got beat badly by Pacman, he actually retired at the right time. Most fighters have fought on after losses like that, only to take some more beatings and get their brains rattled again, its just not worth it. He left at the right time history will remember it like that.
A side story, my dad has disliked DLH since the very beginning, he and I were huge Chavez fans. He always called him a chocante and said things like, ese pinchi gavacho, and always told me how he (DLH) was watching mariachis play in LA one day and the crowd that was there made it clear that DLH wasn't Mexican enough like them, and wondered what the hell he was doing there. But while my dad saw DLH retire on tv he suddenly gained his respect because DLH himself said, "I just don't have it anymore," he admitted that he couldn't compete with the elite anymore. It took that to gain his respect lol

I think its interesting when mexicans bash on DLH...i laugh at mexicans like that i tell them to get off the fricken mountain already its 2009 not 1009...those type of mexicans are just haters...they bash on him cause he is not born in mexico...he is still mexican his parents are mexican they bash him for being mexican american but yet most of those wetbacks have kids in america w the same stripes DLH has...i laugh at these mexicans cause thats just hate in their primitave hearts...I actually rooted for DLH from the jump cause he had the mexican in him...its in his blood not his problem he is light skinned and born in america...many of those mexican arent the best looking either so you can go ahead add that maybe envy plays a little bit of part in that...people need to grow up and realize they are in american now...not all mexican fighters will be born in mexico...our parents came here to the us so that we could have a better living instead of living in the trash thats now called mexico...unless your a rich man or a traffic guy there is no future for our kids in mexico...we are here now...so insted of us trashing the guy we should congraluate a guy like that so that our kids become better people and not all drug dealers or killers or rapist...feel me...

wow guest rooting for oscar i am amazed on your common sence lol i couldnt of said it batter myself, and your right the man has acomplished alot and personally im proud to be a mexican american rather than just plain mexican im glad my parents hoped that border and and me and my sisters where born here and we do live a better life than mexico would have provided.People have to understand this guy fought more people in the pound for pound list than anybody else has ever done so, yes, he came up short in alot of those fight but he fought and he fought bigger guys smaller guys every fucken guy out there, and thats what the American croud liked about him he was our real life version of little mac from punch outwasnt he??? and thats something nobody can take away from him camacho,chavez,maromero,sweepee, hopkins, trinindad, mayweather .mosley, ruelas,pacman,ike quartey ,campas fuck come on guys and most of these guys where on diff divisions the fact of the matter is that yes he migh have been a pretty fucker but atleast his record wasnt just blown up by the wbc like chavez was yes he had like a hundred fights and almost none of them lost till the end but till he stoped fighting tijuana taxi drivers was when he finally lost. Anyway if anybody could have Oscar read this please tell him to give me my one dream... and have him fight chavez JR in el estadio Azteca and whoop that boy till he can finally grow a mustache

typical Oscar fans..... they just don't understand.... for one this is a Chavez fan site not a Oscar fan site.... we respect your opinions, but keep it at a mature level no profanity guys..... also one thing that was brought to my attention..... since when do Mexican's have wet backs...... my back only gets sweaty after a workout...... oh and i do hope they do end up fighting in El Estadio Azteca..... but i think it will be a close fight..... rooting for Chavez Jr though. Oh and please do not call Mexico Trash, we all understand the economic situation that is effecting many nations at this point in time as well as the drug cartel war going on in Mexico, but please respect the Country we were all once from "referring to our parents living there" you guys must understand that it is our home land like it or not, even if we were still born in the U.S. please respect Mexico.

I see some fans of oscar are pissed cause they believe he is not getting the credit he deserves, its exactly the oposite, he is getting the credit he deserves, avoiding Jr and instead fighting a small guy like pacman, getting embarrased by him and quiting (again) in the middle rounds... I think he is getting exactly what he deserves.

i wrote the post about mexicans...the guest that posted after me did not totally understand my post...i was not making comparisons to chavez whatsoever...i was only commenting on how mexicans view Oscar...yall make me laugh cause im #1 a jr fan so for yall to rip my post for it need to grow up...limitz you tell me to respect mexico i laugh in your face buddy..i was born in Mexico im mexican so now you can eat your words funny man...i came up in the area where it is trash and mexico is trash..unless your a rich politician we have nothing but drug moving and killing...i live in az now and here many of the rapist and many of the dudes doing wrong are mexicans born in mexico...i diss on them cause mexico dont give squat bout its people...and now that they are here in american where our kids have a better chance they still act like they are all bout mexico...if you are so in love w mexico then pack your crap and get the F outta here...good riddance...i still have memories of traveling in my own country thats called mexico...the police there are cowards ive had family of mine pulled out of their cars and slapped around...i had a buddy of mine travelin to mexico he is a black guy and he was pulled out of his car cause he was american..they tried to intimidate him and told he to empty his wallet...they were checking out his wife up and down like a pieace of meat...almost hinting that if he did not give them money they would rape his wife...yea thats the mexico yall are proud of huh...i never go back to my home because its trash...this is american were freedom of speech is priceless...i feel if you guys want to ban me well go ahead...it bothers me none...i came here cause im a #1 chavez fan and jr fan...i saw all the wars he went through...my arguement was the way mexicans act and the way they look at DLH thats all...

Buddy your saying that Mexico is trash, and there are drugs and killing going on there. Were have you been, united states isn't any better. In fact were do you think those drugs are going to, That's right united states and for killing, that's everywhere man not just Mexico. United states houses more prisoners then any other country, that's not something to be bragging about. Yes Mexico is a poor country and the politics there are bad. The united states politics are not any better than Mexico. The rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poor. And the reason why crime rates go up is because the poor want what the rich have and decided there going to do wrong in order to get what they want. I can keep going on about how bad this country politics are but back to subject. Cursing on this forum is just a sign of ignorance and immaturity and i have yet to see that on this forum until your post.

Wow finally everybody calmed down but come on guys there is nothing wrong with cursing a little this place is like being at the bar you can say what the fuck you want to say your not at work or church or even at school thats the great thing about the internet you can live a little specially if your cooked up in an office enviroment like i am, with that said glad everybody is back to normal and hey one more thing.... Goodbye Oscar thanks for giving us something to talk about wether it was bad or good you where always on most of boxing mouths for the past 15 years and for that i say thank you gracias carnal have fun being retired you deserve it

the golden boy is back...but not for a big bout he will fight some mendoza guy in panama for fundings for a cancer organazation some like that.but we know this is his tune up this guy felt bad after that dec6 fight 147 he was a dead man.and he thinks he could come back at 154he is 36 shane mosely is 37 and he is teh welter champ jmm is 35 and he could become the poun4pound.thats what makes teh golden boy come back

As I said when I started this post, De La Hoya vs Paquioa was no the last we've seen of Oscar, this so called exhibition is just a tune up and maybe also for him to have a feel of what's left of Oscar, I would bet 1000 dollars he will come back to fight JR!!

I guess I'm hoping for Oscar to give us one last fight, I have nothing but respect for Oscar, personally I think latinos are more respected due to Oscars talent in and out of the ring. One last good win or loose fight with JR would make a career for Oscar!!

Wow i think i found a new friend in dependent lol but i think we have to wait a little longer to make things even we have to wait for JR to get a little sharper and de la hoya to get a little older because right now i think de lahoya will destroy JR the way dlh destroyed mayorga so lets wait 2 years and the playing grounds will be even

well oscar could of given alot more against pacman... against forbes he was,trying realy hard he was throwing alot of punches altough he seem very tired in that fight but he was realy trying.with pacquiao he was 2 things!!either extreamly weak or simply just didnt felt like throwing(who knows why).

he was weak alright shit manny was heavier than he was by the time fight time came on but yeah regarding forbes that will look ridiculous JRs frame is too big ad i dont think forbes will now fight higher than 147 hes a reall 135 pounder maybe even a 140 fighter but nowhere near JRs 160 frame i say he fight and again cintron or mora and definately not mayorga
