Tijuana, July 26 - Julio Cesar Chavez, considered the best Mexican boxer ever, pound-for-pound, will be supporting his sons in their boxing careers.
Junior already has had almost thirty fights, remains undefeated and has 25 of his wins by knockout.
Chavez, who was in ESTO's California offices, commented proudly that his son Julio would be fighting for the world youth title in the welterweight division on August 19 in El Paso, Texas.
All of Junior's fights were at six rounds but against ten-round fighters, and his full-length debut will be for this World Boxing Council title. Junior's career is managed by Rodolfo Chavez - his uncle - and his famous father supporting him from the audience.
Omar, the second of the Chavez's three sons, will make his professional debut in not too long. Although he's only 16, he's had 4 fights as an amateur, enough to win the Torneo de los Barrios in Culiacan.
"He'll debut when he turns 17," said JC, who expressed his gratitude of the cheers his sons recieve when they enter the ring. In Junior's fights, the fans never stop chanting "Chavez, Chavez, Chavez," just like when he entered the ring.
Omar will have a three-round fight in El Paso, on the same card in which his brother Julio will be competing for the World Youth title.
JC is still receiving offers for more farewell fights - in Japan, the US and European countries - but says there won't be any more. "It would show a lack of respect for the fans," said JC, who also said he felt worn out and that his good hand - his right - was still ailing him.

JC spoke enthusiastically about the documentary they were filming on him, produced by Diego Luna, which will be premiering on September 16th.
He also indicated that next year they would be filming a movie based on a biography of him, "El Cesar del Boxeo."
The producer for that movie will be none other than Sylvester Stallone, who starred in the Rocky movies.

Thank goodness, Sylverster Stallone is handling this project. Not only Sly is a boxing fan, he cares and respects "the sweet science" sport.
What else there is to be said about Julio Sr? The legend continues.
