JULIO CESAR CHAVEZ JR TAKES ON 'DOWNTOWN' LOUIS BROWN
*****IN HIS RETURN TO THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY********
ROBERT GARCIA, FERNANDO BELTRAN JR WILL BE FEATURED ON BIG FIGHT CARD AT THE DODGE ARENA IN HIDALGO!!!

Hidalgo, Texas - History will be made when the Son of the Legend, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. of Culiacan, Mexico, will go into his first 10-round main event in the United States at the Dodge Arena on Friday, March 9.

The exciting, charismatic Chavez Jr., 29-0-1 with 22 knockouts, will take on 'Downtown' Louis Brown, 14-2-0, 10 KOs, of Indianapolis. Chavez Jr. vs. Brown will be promoted by Top Rank in association with Zanfer Promotions.

The big card will include the very popular welterweight Robert "Amenaza" Garcia, 22-2, 17 KOs, of Weslaco, Texas, and super bantamweight contender Fernando Beltran, Jr., 28-2-1, 17 KOs, of Culiacan, Mexico.

Doors will open 6:00 pm local time. The first bout is scheduled at 6:20 pm. The Telefutura telecast will begin at 7:00 pm.

Only 20 years old, Julio is a three-year pro. A prospect at 147 pounds, he is the oldest son and namesake of the legendary "El Grande Campeon Mexicano" - former three-time world champion and future Hall of Famer Julio Cesar Chavez.

Julio had very little amateur experience, but has stayed active in the ring, made good progress as pro, and become a significant draw at the gate on his own.

When Julio Junior was born in February, 1986, his father had a professional record of 49-0. He had won the WBC super featherweight world title 17 months earlier and made three successful title defenses.

Junior, at five-foot 11-inches tall, does not physically resemble his five-foot seven inch father, but there are some similarities in their careers and styles at this point. Both had very little amateur experience, and both made their pro debuts at 17 and developed in their early pro fights.

Tickets are $150, $100, $75, $50, $25 and are available on Monday, February 12, at 10:00am, from the Dodge Arena box office at 956-843-6688 or go to dodgearena.com
