Omar Chavez Carrasco is the second son of Julio Cesar Chavez Gonzalez and Amalia Carrasco. Born in 1990, he was just a couple of months old when his father had his legendary bout with Meldrick Taylor. After growing up around the sport, Omar decided as a teen to follow a career in boxing and had a few amateur bouts before making his pro debut on December 16, 2006. Omar often fights on the undercards of his brother Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and uses his brother’s success so far as an extra encouragement as he develops his own career. He currently has a record of 17-0-1 with 13 KOs.
