THE OPPONENT – Vasquez’s career spanned from 1972 to 1985. In 1978, he lost a shot at the Mexican Bantamweight Title with a seventh round KO to Hector Medina. After the Chavez fight, Vasquez lost seven of eight bouts and retired in 1985.
