Chavez vs. Rowland

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr won a ten-round decision over Troy Rowland (25-2, 7 KOs) with scores of 99-91, 98-92, and 97-93.

After the fight, the Nevada Athletic Commission claimed that he used the diuretic Furosemide, a banned substance. If found guilty, Chavez could face a fine and suspension, with the result of the bout changed to a no-contest.

In the main event, Manny Pacquiao knocked out Miguel Cotto in the twelfth round to claim the WBO Welterweight title. Also on the card, Yuri Foreman scored a decision win over Daniel Santos to claim the WBA Light Middleweight title. Alfonso Gomez won a technical decision over Jesus Soto Karass after the bout was stopped on cuts in the sixth round.
