Julio Cesar Chavez Jr vs. Gerardo Penaflor

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. made his US debut at the International Ballroom in Houston, Texas. It was also the professional debut of opponent and Houston native Gerardo Peñaflor, who managed to get in some good shots. Junior was dominating the fight, but his father was yelling at him from ringside to finish off his opponent with the uppercut. The fight went the distance, however, and Julio upped his record to 3 and 0.

Also on the card, super bantamweight Hugo Ramirez won an unanimous decision over Melchor Cob Castro. Heavyweight Felix Cora Jr won a third-round TKO over Jesus Valadez. Benjamin Flores TKO’ed Terry White in one.
